Traditional Heroes

A visual arts project, honouring Elders who have led the struggle and yet remain unrecognised.

Smashed Films

Short films made with Roebourne young people focused on health themes, for peer to peer education and support.

Dance in Peace

A dance video on country, co-created with young women, who had watched their older peers working with Big hART.

Colourathon

Roebourne Young women participate in a Big hART event called Colourathon, in Canberra. Raising money to prevent family violence.

Radio Diary Project

Digital program for young women, creating audio pieces. The work of one young women broadcasted nationally.

Punkaliyarra (Sister in law story)

An intergenerational women’s project, in cultural transmission, with young women working alongside women Elders, artists and mentors.

Banthunguru Bura (The Next Generation) Report

This report gives a strong sense of the financial investment; and the networking and grant writing; the designs and discussions to achieve it; as well as the intensity of the work on the ground.

A space for young people and digital catch up.

Songs for Freedom

A new concert based on these songs is invited to Perth, taking Roebourne on the road, with a campaign to raise awareness of the incarceration rates of Aboriginal children. The WA Attorney General speaks from stage and agrees to work to lower the incarceration rates of children.
